Gum Disease: Prevention & Treatment

Respect your gums

Gum disease is a very common condition. Symptoms include swollen, sore or infected gums. You may also experience bleeding when you brush your teeth and bad breath.

The early stages of gum disease is called gingivitis, however if not treated, this could develop into periodontitis.

There is no cure for periodontal disease, but if you follow the home care taught by your specialist dentist, then it can be controlled. The development of loss of bone may now stop altogether, depending on how quickly you have seeked treatment.

Remember to go for regular check-ups at your dentist.
